Charity Work at UFCW Local 328
UFCW Local 328 runs a number of charitable programs throughout the year. The UFCW Local 328 Thanksgiving Food Bank, a tradition which has been in existence for decades, provides families in need with baskets full of food for the holiday, and we look for and accept donations for these baskets year round. Our annual toy drive, meanwhile, has resulted in hundreds of children receiving gifts donated by our members during the holiday season. We collect toys at all of our quarterly meetings. If you cannot make it to a quarterly meeting, members who have new toys to donate are asked to give them to your shop steward for safe keeping.
Additionally, our member assistance program has provided financial aid to countless members throughout the years who have fallen on hard times. If anyone knows of a member who may be struggling, we ask that you contact the union office as soon as possible so we can lend a helping hand. Finally, the annual Local 328 Golf Tournament has raised over one million dollars for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, a massive achievement that only marks the beginning of our efforts to help in the research and treatment of this deadly disease. For more information on our charity drives, please contact your shop steward or union rep, or call the union office at 401-861-0300.
