Dave began his career in the labor movement with Purity Supreme Markets as a cashier in June 1961. In 1963, he became a Meat Cutter; and throughout his career, Dave has held various positions including Head Meat Cutter and Meat Department Head.

In 1976, Dave was appointed to Union Steward for UFCW Local 2, and was later appointed to Local 2’s Executive Board. In 1981, UFCW Local 2 merged with UFCW Local 328, and Dave continued his Executive Board position with Local 328. In 1992, Dave joined the UFCW Local 328 staff as an organizer. He was promoted to Union Representative in 1994 and to Executive Assistant to the President/Director of Field Services in 2000. On November 3, 2004, Local 328’s Executive Board, in accordance with the UFCW International Constitution and the Local’s by-laws, elected Dave as President of Local 328.

On January 1, 2005 he was appointed as a trustee of the UFCW and Participating Employers Interstate Health & Welfare Fund and serves as an alternate trustee of the UFCW Union-Industry Pension Fund. Dave is also editor and chief of Local 328’s “Union Voice”.

Dave resides in Scituate, MA with his wife Janice, and is a proud member of “Red Sox Nation”.
