After graduating from Bryant College 1974, Ellen began her career in 1975 working at Eddie’s Market IGA and was very instrumental in organizing that unit. She continued her employment with Eddie’s in various positions including Cash Department Head, Meat Wrapper, Deli Head and acting Union Steward for 15 years.

In 1989 Ellen was appointed to the Executive Board of Local 328. In 1992, she joined the staff as an organizer; and she became a Union Representative in 1994. Ellen was appointed as Recorder for the Local and elected to that position in 2002.

Ellen is currently serving as a delegate to the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, Providence Central Labor Council (where she is also the Recorder) & Greater Woonsocket Labor Council (2nd Vice-President).

She is a member of UFCW Local 328 Women’s Network and in 2005 was appointed to Co-Regional Director of the Network.

Ellen has two children and the proud “Oma” (grandmother) of a little girl.
