Linda started her career in the supermarket industry in 1972 as a part-time cashier for the Rhode Island division of Star Market. She went on to become a full-time meat wrapper, and then an Assistant Produce Manager for Star Market. In 1985, she was appointed to shop steward. During her 10 years as steward, she was very active in the local union, and was named Steward of the Year. In 1995, Linda was hired by UFCW Local 328 as an organizer, and later became a Union Representative and was appointed to the Executive Board in 1997. Linda is a member of the Rhode Island Labor History Society, UFCW Local 328’s Women’s Network and a trustee of the UFCW New England Council. Linda has been very active in the UFCW Local 328 Charitable Foundation and has raised over $50,000 for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society’s Walk to Cure. She credits her membership for the amounts raised. She currently serves as chair of the UFCW Local 328 Charitable Foundation Motorcycle Run Committee.
