No Cuts to Care!
Governor McKee’s current state budget aims to cut $25 million from our hospitals funding. With the current attacks on Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, this action could cause harm to many of those who rely on these programs. Medicaid provides healthcare to over 300,000 Rhode Islanders, over half of which are nursing home residents. Additionally, Medicaid or Medicare funds $.70 of ever dollar for our hospitals. These cuts could endanger our healthcare systems, put jobs in jeopardy, and destabilize the local economy.
A rally will be held at the statehouse this Saturday, May 3rd, to show our elected officials how we feel about healthcare cuts, both in Washington and in home. To RSVP to the rally, or to sign an online petition showing no confidence in Governor McKee, follow the links below.
