Stop & Shop Negotiation Update
Brothers and Sisters,
Today we began our unity bargaining (UFCW Locals 328,371,919,1445,1459) with the Stop and Shop Company. This being our first day in negotiations session, each local spoke about the importance of a good contract and the hard work that the members do every day to support the company as well as their customers.
Each local presented a proposal to the company looking for improvements unique to their contracts. The company has taken back each local’s proposal and they will review and come back to us with a response for our next round of negotiations (December 16th ).
We have expressed to the company the importance of funding our Health and Welfare Fund to a level that will protect the excellent benefits that their employee and their families enjoy along with wages that reflect the hard work and dedication of their employees.
We will keep you updated after each of our negotiation sessions. Please make sure that everyone that you work with has signed up for our email and text messaging app.
Our unity is our strength, and our strength is our unity.
Sincerely and fraternally
Timothy M. Melia
President
