The UFCW International Union has administered the immensely popular James A Suffridge Scholarship Fund for more thatn 45 years.  Through this program they have been able to recognize bright, yound UFCW members and their dependants.  In that time, they have gone through many changes, and the scholarship program has evolved along with the needs of the members.

We are a growing Union, with young workers approaching the majority of our membership.  For the 2009 awards they will continue to accept online applicaitons from any student who has graduated from high school, will be graduating in the spring of 2009, or has received their GED.  Again this year, the application will be availbale from January 15 through April 15 2009, and they are proud to continue awarding two scholarships in each region worth up to $8,000 each.
