On Wednesday, April 28—Workers’ Memorial Day—workers in the U.S. and around the world honor the memory those who have passed away, made ill or have been injured on the job.
Throughout this pandemic, essential workers have continued to step up and serve in roles they never thought they would find themselves in. We honor them and we renew our fight for safer workplaces for all working families.
Last week, we lost a member of our UFCW union family in a tragic shooting at a Stop & Shop in West Hempstead, New York. Ray Wishropp was a member for over 30 years with Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW. Our hearts are with Ray’s family and loved ones. A GoFundMe has been established provide support for his family during this incredibly difficult time. For anyone who would like to make a contribution, visit: https://www.gofundme.com/…/support-for-the-family-of… We thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness. All funds will be given directly to Ray’s parents and children.
