Greenleaf Workers Show Support for Organizing Amazon Workers

Greenleaf workers, who recently filed for their union election at Greenleaf Compassionate Care Center in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, shared a message of support for Amazon workers organizing in Alabama!

Their collective statement reads: “Today we stand in solidarity with the Amazon workers of the Bessemer, AL warehouse who are looking to join the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. As essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic we believe it is imperative that the safety of employees actually be prioritized by ownership in accordance with current state and national guidelines. In industries that have seen higher profits over this past year, it is unacceptable that workers have been struggling to see policies be set in place to help mitigate the rise of COVID-19 cases that has been unmatched to any other country in the world. To not be fairly compensated for continuing to provide these much needed services during such incomparable times is telling of how ownership truly values their employees. We want to congratulate the workers on their hard work and dedication to making their shop a healthier and safer environment for themselves, and for workers around the world. From our organizing drive to yours!”
